Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing as an LPN or RN.
Licenses: Current AL State Nursing License, Current BLS & ACLS.
Requirements: At least one year of hospital nursing and geriatric psych experience is preferred. Computer skills are a must. Good leadership skills, critical thinking skills and good communication skills are required.
LPN Duties Include: Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating a patient population made up of geriatric patients to provide maximum quality care. Administer injections and other medications as required and may assist with patient restraint and daily hygiene. Assist with therapeutic activities for individual patients and for groups in accordance with treatment plans. Documents patient interactions, patient assessments, nursing care rendered and patient responses to therapeutic intervention. Maintain a good working relationship among staff, coworkers, and customers. Provide patient and family education. Use good people and communication skills. Good computer skills are required. Must possess and help implement a positive attitude. Good medication procedures and good critical thinking skills are a must. Perform other nursing duties as required.
RN Duties Include: Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation and evaluation. The RN is responsible for the direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care. The quality of care given will be in keeping with the policies and procedures of nursing to meet the health care needs of the patients and their families. Provide age specific care as planning made up of geriatric patients. Provide patient and family education and discharge planning. Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcome. A positive attitude and good communication skills will be required. Maintain a good working relationship among staff, coworkers, and customers. Perform other nursing duties as required.
